Bickle Knob Observation Tower
Bickle Knob is a mountain summit located east of Elkins in Randolph County at an eleveation of 4,003 feet. Easily accessible during warm weather months, Bickle Knob is also home to one of the few remaining observation towers in Monongahela National Forest An observation deck provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding forest and West Virginia mountain landscapes. The most prominent feature at Bickle Knob is its observation tower. Formerly a fire tower, the original cab has been removed and replaced with a wooden viewing platform. The tower provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. The tower is not handicapped accessible. Directions: Go East from Elkins on US-33 [Randolph Ave] for 4.5 miles Turn LEFT (North) onto CR-33 for 2.0 miles Turn LEFT (North) onto CR-6 [Shavers Fork Rd] for .4 miles Turn RIGHT to stay on CR-6 [Shavers Fork Rd] for 32 yards Bear RIGHT (South-East) onto Public Road 91 for 3.8 miles Keep LEFT onto Public Road 91/A for .2 miles Keep LEFT to stay on Public Road 91/A for 32 yards.
