Rich Mountain
Randolph County was formed in 1787 and three years later the first town was established. The area was named Beverly and was established as the Randolph County seat. It was named Beverly for Beverly Randolph, mother of Edmund Randolphy, by the Virginia General Assembly on December 16, 1970. The Rich Mountain area includes Beverly and Files Creek and is one of the most history filled areas in Randolph County, including the original courthouse.
